Cookies seem to be a theme in my life lately.
Monday night is ladies’ night at my house, and I always provide a fun dessert to share. Given that Halloween is right around the corner, I went with the Halloween theme. We picked up some cookie cutters and I whipped up some sugar cookies for the ladies to decorate.
I used this recipe, although later my mom found this recipe, which is probably better. I found that the recipe I used wasn’t great for rolling out the dough, and then once I rolled the cookies out and baked them, they puffed up into something unrecognizable. We ended up cutting out the shapes after baking them and then just snacking on the cookie edges.
You still have plenty of time to make your own Halloween cookies if you haven’t yet! Just follow the recipes above, make some butter cream frosting and dye it different colors. Decorating these cookies is a really fun event!

Those are super cute! I used the sugar cookie recipe from Martha Stewart.com, and they turned out well too. I did have to add quite a bit of flour when rolling/cutting to deal with stickiness. They will be decorated at preschool tomorrow!
