I’m really rather embarrassed to write this post. And no, I’m not including photos because it would only add to my embarrassment. Suffice it to say, a while ago I noticed grease on my cabinets above the microwave which is itself above our stove. I thought to myself, “Shouldn’t the oven filters catch the grease and get it from going everwhere?”

We removed the filters and I won’t even begin to describe the unspeakable horrors that we found. Layers and layers and layers of grease. Of course these filters weren’t working. They were packed with grease. I never thought of putting “clean oven filters” on my to do list. (It is on there now, just so you know! I get a monthly reminder via Outlook!)

Of course we needed to clean these, so we pulled out our super powerful soap. It did nothing. We scrubbed. Nothing. We boiled it in water. Nothing. Added soap to the water. Nothing. Added vinegar to the water (why not?). Nothing. Boiled them for an hour. Nothing.

And then we did what we should have done from the beginning.

We called my mom.

And mom came on over with this. LOVE IT! This is a miracle cleaner. Mom buys it at an auto shop. I sprayed the gummy filters, waited a few minutes, rinsed them off, and voila! Good as new! Now I’ve started using this product all over my house – the bottom of the microwave, the oven, the floors, the counters. It’s like there’s nothing this can’t clean!

Orange Cleaner is here to save the day! Hooray!

We need to buy the 275-gallon tote next time.

You are so funny. I bet your Outlook calendar says “Remind mom to clean oven filters.”

I am glad that this product worked so well for you. I know it does an amazing job on my tile floors. After spraying the degreaser and letting it sit for a few minutes, I wipe away the grime with little to no elbow grease (pun intended).
