People have been harassing me to see Julie & Julia since the day it came out. Given that my hubby and I had already blown through our movie budget money, I had to wait for it to come out on video. This isn’t so bad, though. We have a decent home theater system, and when you watch movies that make you want to gorge yourself with every kind of possible yummy food, it’s nice to be able to press pause and go raid the fridge.
Now that I’ve seen the movie, I know why people kept telling me that I just had to see it. I had no idea that they were making a movie about ME! Boy could I ever relate to Julie. And those scenes where she’s slumped on the floor because of a burnt meal that she had spent hours on? Well, I’m not quite so dramatic, but I’ve definitely had my days.
Mostly, though, this movie has inspired me to dream big about Dishing the Divine. I have new goals and ideas and can’t wait to hear back from my readers about their thoughts. I’m thinking of incorporating interviews with local chefs/bakers/pastry makers, book reviews, product reviews of my favorite kitchen gadgets, raffles, and more – all in the name of helping us “servantless cooks” to have more fun in the kitchen whipping up amazing meals for our friends and families.
So, stay tuned for fun times ahead. And if you ever have any ideas that you want to share with me, please do! I welcome recipes, book ideas, kitchen tips, and really anything else that you think might be useful, interesting, entertaining, etc.! No idea is too big or too small! You can either email them to me at paula at dishingthedivine.com or you can leave a comment below!

HAHA I love this photo!!!!!!!!!!! I slow cooked a chicken yesterday and I thought it turned out ok except I have yet to try a recipe that suggested putting foil balls on the bottom to drain out the juices. Whatev…I am still going for it and hoping to perfect the whole chicken meal…

Beth – have you seen one of the beer can holders that you slide into a chicken so that it’s upright? you might want to try that and see if that would keep the chicken from just marinating in its juices. I like to use that in the oven – if you go that route, put it in a pan and put some water on the bottom of the pan so that the grease doesn’t splatter when it hits the pan.
