LeAnn Kovar for her recipe for dumplings! I have not had a chance to make these yet, but here is her recipe in case you want something special to eat soon!
Here’s LeAnn’s note about her recipe:
OK! Here’s my favorite holiday recipe. Way back when I was… a teen or tween, my family started the tradition of soup and bread for Christmas Eve dinner. My Mom would make turkey soup (or similar) with DUMPLINGS. Those dumplings are my favorite holiday food. (Aside from chocolate. Duh.) To make it extra special, the recipe is from my Great Grandma Mary Lytle.
danish dumplings
4 Tbsp butter
1/2 C Milk
1/2 C Flour
2 Eggs
Bring butter and milk to a boil. Reduce heat. Add flour all at once, stirring rapidly. Cook and stir until mixture thickens and leaves sides of pan. Remove from heat.
Beat in eggs one at a time, then beat until mixture looks satiny and breaks off when the spoon is raised.
Drop by teaspoons full onto hot, boiling soup. Reduce heat and cover. Cook covered on low heat for 20 minutes. Uncover and cook 5 minutes longer.

These were really yummy! Just be warned… cook them in a BIG pot, as I had to upgrade twice. These suckers expand

No kidding, Jo! I tried these yesterday in my minestrone and was glad you had left a comment warning me about their size. I not only left room but also added more broth, and the end result was deliciousness!
