Comments on: pot roast with rich tomato gravy

I made this on the weekend for our out of town guests. It was great, we spent about 20 minutes prepping (my hubby sliced the onions…I don’t do onions..lol) and tossed it in the crockpot and we were off and running for the day. We came home to a yummy smelling kitchen and a delicious meal. I made a salad and some homemade bread to go with it. Delicious!

So yeah, it turns out this is delicious. It looked, smelled, tasted, (felt?, sounded?) delicious. All around fantastic! Another plus is that it’s really not that involved to make. Some chopping and measuring (and mostly I don’t do the measuring part anyway), et voilà! Melt-apart meat and savory gravy that is excellent soaked up on some crusty bread. Well done!

Your dad really liked the extra sauce you shared with us (I added extra veggies and turned it into a soup) so I imagine the roast was magnificent too!

Wow, that looks great! One of our favorite Bessie meals was beef stew in the crock pot – using a package of the stew meat. It turned out so tender and flavorful… mmmm… Must be that ‘slow & low’ thing?
